Not as bad as the Stevenage game, but we dominated long periods of play and created a lot of good opportunities against a fairly veteran Bedford side, but couldn't convert. Bedford were fairly profligate with their chances as well, but just took enough of them, sneaking into the lead with 7 minutes to play and holding our as we threw the kitchen sink at them.
Elliot Barling, Josh Dear and Chris Shattock joined us to make up for rather low availability (and a couple of players up with the 6s) and give us a solid base at the back, and the juniors did their usual sterling job passing their way through midfield, especially in the 2nd half when we made much more use of width. Zach deserves special mention today, but Player of the Match goes to Geof Hopkin for a spectacular mid air touch to divert Ian's lofted flick into the net for our first goal. Ian struck from a goal mouth scramble to get us to 2 - 1 at half time, but we didn't find the backboard again.
