For the first time we fielded all our 5 U13s and for the most part us oldies just tidied up a bit at the back and left them to get on with it.
Tom Norman got the glory (and another PotM) for bagging two of the goals, but Freddie, Benedict, Charlie and Zach just ran St Albans off the pitch for long periods.
After dominating the first ten minutes but failing to score, we got an unwanted reminder of last week's game as we were caught on the break and found ourselves chasing the game again. St Albans did threaten more in the first half, but most of the play was well into their half of the pitch and Tom finally got us level before the break.
We went into the 2nd half with more urgency, despite playing into a stiff wind and steady rain, and after several opportunities Kris got us ahead after a succession of shots had been blocked by their outstanding keeper.
St Albans pushed three strikers up the pitch as they searched for an equaliser, but despite forcing several short corners they rarely looked threatening. In the broad spaces that opened up behind them we knocked the ball around with ambition and precision, and spent long periods in an around their D, but only managed to convert one more chance, Tom driving home from the top pf the D after a short corner.
This leaves us as one of 4 Div 7 sides sharing the top spot on 18 points (including our 6s), though we are well behind the other 3 on goal difference.
