Our trip down to Southgate on Thursday night (19 May) yielded a closely fought and exciting tie, with Hertford recovering from a very scrappy start to take a 4 - 1 lead just after half time. Southgate stepped up a gear and pulled it back to 4 - 4, aided by a smart short corner drill, only for Hertford to snatch it with a deserved winner ten minutes from the end. Two goals for Nixon Chirashe on his veterans debut, and three for Ian Rawlinson, our first O 50's hat trick! Good to see Matt Earl and Doug Ashworth back on the pitch after lengthy lay offs.
