Hertford U10 Boys won all 6 of their matches, dominating the Herts league tournament today.
Hertford A
Won 3-0 (BlueHarts A)
Won 7-0 (BlueHarts B)
Won 5-0 (St Albans A)
The A team are playing fantastic hockey.
When the opposition have the ball, the marking is tight, and the tackling is strong and determined. No one hangs back from the tackles; the players can be proud of their determination and competitive spirit to quickly win the ball back. Over the 3 matches today, the opposition had only 3 chances in our D. This is because of the excellent pressure you apply to opposition teams, pressing them all around the pitch.
When we have the ball, no one is selfish. Each player passes. There are always players running to get free, both wide and forward. The ball is quickly moved forward, and opponents are struggling to defend the waves of forward pressure, because Hertford pass quickly and selflessly.
The good listening by the players and their efforts in training are paying off.
Hertford A can be very proud of their hockey and their team. Let's keep improving, and very well done!
Hertford B
Won 2-0 (St Albans B)
Won 1-0 (Harpenden A)
Won 1-0 (BlueHarts C)
Matthew Norman played his 1st game for the U10s in goal, making a very important save, and closing down a free attacker forcing another important miss.
Joe Hopper defended strongly, and can be pleased how well he cleared the ball and passed forward.
James Pennington was very strong in centre midfield, often stopping the opponents' attacks with his determination.
Mark Bateman was busy in midfield , both running back to defend , and managing to push forward as striker to get a good goal.
Kai Chantler drove forward extremely well all day on the right wing, and made some superb crosses into the D.
Aaron White showed his class with excellent selfless passing. No opponent attacked successfully down Aaron's wing all day. Aaron deserved his goal.
Lewis Rawlinson ran very well as striker and played his best ever hockey today. He was twice close to getting a goal.
Henry Walker tackled and troubled defenders all day, and scored well with his trademark hard strikes.
Hertford B won today because of determined tackling, selfless passing, and a hunger to get players and ball forward. The B team can be very proud of themselves today, well done!
