In what was probably our best game of the season so far we competed for the whole 70 minutes against a good Bedford side and could consider ourselves unlucky not to take something away from the game.
We started brightly and prevented Bedford from controlling the game in the early stages and it certainly didn’t look like a game between one of the top teams playing one of the bottom sides. Bedford scored first and started to get a bit more control in midfield but we continued to work hard and got a well deserved equaliser put away nicely by Ben Murray. Unfortunately a lack of concentration in defence meant Bedford went in 2-1 up.
Following the break we continued to compete until the game was stopped due to a nasty injury to Mike, but despite that we soon got back into our stride. Bedford’s third goal came from a defensive error by the captain letting one of their best players get a clean run through on goal.
Some excellent performances all round once again but a number of people including myself commented on Ben Murray’s performance this week excellent game well done.
