Hertford 6 -0 Saffron Walden 6s -3

Match report this week details from Matt as I was unavailable yesterday.

Another frustrating game and result. We had early pressure to deal with but soaked it up and then we started to attack well and look dangerous. They scored from a penalty corner and we upped our game after that and were going close. Aaron’s efforts blocked a couple of times by their keeper, who produced a very lucky save in the second half diving with his stick to clear what looked like a certain goal. Then once they scored their second it was a familiar pattern, but to be fair everyone kept going. Kris had a great game, as did James F in central defence.
So all in all another ‘didn’t deserve to lose by that margin’ games. In fact we didn’t deserve to lose full stop so annoying all round.
But lots of positives. Everyone put in a shift.

Well played to all of you sounds like another game we completed well in despite the end result. Thanks to all who helped get the team out this week, and especially to Gregg who umpired 3 games on a cold afternoon, without the efforts of our umpires we wouldn’t be able field as many teams as we do.
