A deserved win from a game we controlled for long period, especially in the 2nd half, though we lacked some of the pace and incisiveness we showed last week. It was rather warm, and I think we are a cold weather side really. We created plenty of chances but again struggled to find the crisp final touch against a very good keeper. But we kept patient, kept building, and our reward came on the hour as Luke scooped our 7th short corner safely into the top of the net. Equally pleasing, we kept a clean sheet for the second game in a row (an all time record for the 6s), though this week our marking was worryingly casual against a side whose attacking patterns were often hard to read.
It took until the 2nd half to start making regular use of the ample space we had to play in, and t rediscover the confidence in our own short and lateral passing. I guess we could have done with an early goal to settle our nerves. But when we finally clicked it all looked very attractive.
Can we make it three wins in a row? Never done that before.....
