A superb 3:1 victory - the hockey did the talking

What a result...3:1 victory against a side doing really well this season.
The first 20 minutes of the first half Hertford V's were passing well, finding space & creating opportunities. One fluid move resulted in Josh putting the ball away (a well deserved goal & Josh went on to play a strong part in the rest of the game). The last 15 minutes of the half we lost our shape a bit (we struggled with lots of substitutions - we'll work on maintaining structure despite rolling subs in the coming weeks) + for some reason the effort levels just dipped. Potters Bar got one back. Soon after a Penalty Flick was warded to Potters Bar, although scored, the attacker had taken too many steps...after a bit of debate, they were made to re-take & Andy Mari stopped brilliantly. We went in at half time 1:1, the least we deserved.
The second half we found our earlier form - the combination of great distribution from Tim Albery (Man of the Match) & John Hartley (a rock soild performance) kept the spine of the team strong. A superb attacking run from Ewen was completed with him firing it in from the top right of the D (excellent play) & 'new boy' Jono Ayton floated one over the keeper to net our third (if only he had meant it!). The other 'new boy', Matt Heath-Clark looked dangerous all game - great to see both him & Jono coming to the club post University.
Other players to mention - Will Ross a strong game (plenty of great touches & solid defense); Rob Holman great defense & distribution; Archie at their heels all game - great work ethic; Noah a constant menace up front; & Rian who is demonstrating great positioning awareness & great runs (the goals will come!). Lastly I should mention Chris Shattock, who, especially in the last third of the game, kept close tabs on the speedy Potters Bar attacker & marked him out of the game - it made a massive difference.
Well done all - a great victory!!
I should just mention Gill Over teas - the bar keeps being raised - thank you!
