Hertford 5's draw with Southgate Adelaide 2

Considering we had virtually all the play, we nearly came unstuck against Southgate Adelaide 2.
The one chance they had first half, they scored (a decent strike)...we went in one down at half time.
Then almost as soon as the second half started, against the run of play, a move straight down the middle resulted in another score to Southgate.

Still, our heads did not go down....a great passing move from defense, ended up with Ewen doing a great run to the base line to pull it back to me & I could not miss! Our second goal was even more impressive with a flowing move, from defense, out wide, crossed in for Matt, on his debut with the 5's, scoring a cracker in the bottom right.

Man of the match: Tim Albery - always the most considered player on the pitch, great distribution & showing the young & old how it should be done - well done Tim

So what do we take from the game...

When we pass with speed & accuracy, to a Hertford player, we open up the opposition
We continue to create loads of chances (slightly more composure on the ball & we would have netted a hat full)

We knew all the above...
The new lesson was when subbing, the person coming on, has to take responsibility to ensure the player they are replacing has firstly left the pitch & secondly had a conversation about the position they are filling - all this should take place at the half way line on the players bench side....failure to do that means...the captain gets asked to leave the pitch (first ever yellow card!!!) for having too many on the pitch!!!

So we should have had that game, but one point is better than a loss....
