5s continue to build momentum....

Another tough old battle for the 5s, but a well deserved win to take us into the top half of the table. With the Keogh twins making their first appearance of the season we had a wealth of midfield resources, in fact a very strong squad all round, and looked well on top in the first 15 minutes, forcing a string of good chances. However, the regular substitutions maybe broke us up a bit, WGC got back into the game and by half time we were beginning to get a bit edgy as WGC began to threaten and Geoff had to pull off a couple of sharp saves. Perhaps that's why we weren't moving the ball around the way we can.

Around 45 minutes Tor calmed our nerves, seeing it the rebound from his own shot after latching onto a cross from the right, but despite some good chances as play opened up, the second didn't come and there was some nail-biting to do as Welwyn won a last minute short corner. Happily, Geoff stretched for the firts shot, Steve fenced the follow up off the line chest high, and we had our three points.

A few things to learn - forwards were often too far up and hard to reach, and we need to pull the ball back across the D more often, but it's mostly fine tuning now, the exciting thing is that we have more to give, that wasn't our best yet.

The old gits conference in the bar decided to give MotM to Sean for an industrious and creative shift in midfield

Finally, many thanks to the Davies family for an excellent chilli and rice for lunch.
