Sore Loss

Another disappointing loss for ladies 2's.
For my pre match preparation I had taken to the five counties website to check the oppositions stats and was pleased to see they were 11th in the league whilst we were flying higher up in 9th. I raced to the pitch Full of high hopes And shared the good news with my team and made it clear my expectation of a win.
Unfortunately the opposition took the lead within the first fifteen minutes leaving my hopes slightly dashed.
We managed to hold it at 1-0 going into the half time break and conversed enthusiastically with our fruit pastilles giving us an extra sugar boost, so by the time the umpires signalled the start of the second half we were raring to go.
The second half was a well fought battle with us winning more short corners, getting players in the d & on one occasion resulting in a disallowed goal scored by Jenny and her pretty foot! Not to mention a shocking foul on Kirstie which sent her flying almost over the half way line! Knee and elbow grazed she picked herself up, dusted herself off and headed away to the defence line.
Despite the tough battle on pitch and the blood shed we couldn't get the goal we were banging on the door for. The opposition took advantage of our push up the pitch and got a lucky break scoring their second and securing their win.
A very well deserved man of the match goes to the gallant Kirstie who also topped the number of man of the match votes on the day for any player this season so far, and no Kirstie you don't get two badges!
