Ladies 1s put five past Blueharts to come back from last week's defeat.

Storm Brian made for some blustery conditions this week as Hertford returned to home turf, looking to bounce back after a last week’s defeat to top of the league.

Blueharts arrived at Hertford, unbeaten this season, and off the back of a 5-0 win over Stevenage. It didn’t take long however for Hertford to knock their confidence, putting Bluehart’s defence under pressure for a solid ten minutes, but they were unable to convert.

As Hertford piled on the pressure and threw more bodies forward they were left exposed to the counter attack, and Blueharts were given sight of goal, only to be thwarted by the ever reliable duo of Bartram and Estherby in defence.

The deadlock was finally broken after thirteen minutes of hard work, when Molly Hobson was denied a goal scoring opportunity by being taken out by the keeper. Hobson cooly converted the resulting penalty flick.

Boosted by the goal, Hertford continued to push forward in number, and a second goal came just five minutes later. A series of well executed passes out of defence ended with Estherby firing the ball across the D which was expertly deflected by Liz Berry.

2-0 down at half time, Blueharts refused to give up and came out strong after the break. Some epic goal line clearances from the defence, superb saves from Warnell in goal and determination from rookie defender Bevlyn DeAgostini kept them at bay.

Calm distribution of the ball from Becki Quiddington and man of the match Laura Sharman allowed Hertford plenty of opportunities on the counterattack. Pallett was released for one of her classic drives into the D, to give a weighted pass to Berry who finished on the reverse.

More reverse stick trickery came from Hobson for the fourth, a run into the D, round the keeper and fired into the bottom right corner.

The final goal came from Molly Pallett strike that the Blueharts keeper stood no chance of stopping.

A well deserved, hard earned 5-0 victory that Hertford needed to boost their confidence for the Tring game next week.
