Hertford 2 Bishops Stortford 2

A first point on the board yesterday achieved by hard work, determination, character and a bit of fighting sprit. As a team we are setting down and benefiting from a bit of consistency. The first half saw us go in 1-2 down following an opening goal by Chris D a result of some fast moving play though the midfield. Stortford were awarded a PF to bring them level and a converted PC on the stroke of half time was a bitter pill to swallow.
But this was exactly the time the character of the team showed through, it was obvious that the attitude of the whole team was to get back out and take the game to the opposition, and that’s a credit to you all following 3 losses on the trot, 2 of them quite heavy. A fast ball up field to Iain and a lovely bit of skill brought us level.
The defence continued to soak up pressure and hard work through the midfield started to rattle Stortford resulting in a yellow card. The danger at these times is that you can get drawn in to the arguments which in turn effects your own game and we didn’t do that, well done. To many good performances to mention you all individually but give yourselves a pat on the back.
This season is going to be a tough one and our aim should be to consolidate the 4s into div 6. There are teams we will take points off as yesterday proved, so more of the same next week please guys.
