Hertford 1 Harpenden 2

A close game against Harpenden this week as expected in a 2nd v 3 place encounter.
Harpenden came at us hard from the start and the defence had their work cut out for the 5 minutes or so, but as the half progressed we got a bit more time on the ball but were still getting over run in midfield and this led to the first goal.
At half time we made a change and moved Mike into midfield this had an immediate effect and enabled us to be more competitive in all areas, however following a short corner Harpenden went 2 goals up against the run of play.
We continued to work hard with the defence keeping things tight and midfield and forwards created a good number of chances forcing Harpenden’s keeper to make some very good saves before Iain found the net in the last couple of minutes to get one back.

A special mention to all the young members of our team this week, Tom and Ronan making their first appearance in the 4s supported by Alex, Riley, Gabriel and Iain who all played extremely well.
