St Albans 0 Hertford 0

On a bit of a high having beaten Letchworth last week we traveled to St Albans for the 10:30 slot and as seems to be the case this season it’s not a good time availability wise.
So with 11 plus Mark suffering from a heavy cold we took on 4th place St Albans only a point behind us in the league, two extremely well matched sides in term of youth and experience, played a very competitive game with everyone involved and both goal keepers pulling of some great saves.
We came close creating some good chances but couldn’t quite convert them this week.
After the game St Albans were very complementary about our youngsters who in my opinion are improving week by week and now form a powerful part of the team, combined with a very solid defence we have made our mark in the league so far this season. After 2 tough games it would be easy to relax with Winchmore Hill and Enfield coming up this weekend, but they managed a draw last week and I have been playing this game long enough to see and play in many teams that have fallen into that trap. So it’s important that we turn out on Saturday with the same determination and attitude as the previous 2 weeks.
Both Iain, Matt and Alex all got mentioned in despatches, but Alex got MOM this week so well done. For me a great game and effort by all.
