1-0 loss to Harpenden

A frustrating game to lose last week despite all our hard work, we probably played some of the better hockey but its about getting the ball over the line and Harpenden converted one of about 3 short corners and we were unable to find the net from about 7 all be it going close on occasions.
We didn’t break as well from midfield as we have been doing in previous weeks leaving Iain and Jared a little isolated up front, but moving players around doesn’t help.
The defensive trio of Tony, Daryl and Peter backed up by Tony in goal gave us a very good defensive line, Tony making some great saves in the second half to keep us in the game along with Andy’s goal line clearance. Max and Alex ran extremely well down each wing and chased back hard when required and Ed is gradually dusting off some of his skills and we look forward to seeing continued improvement in the coming weeks. Thanks to Steve and Daryl who stepped up from the 6s for the 2nd week running and played well once again
Our work rate and commitment was again excellent if we keep that up we will have more success in future games, MOM this week go’s to Alex well done to him.
