Excellent Start to the new season

The first proper outing for the 4th Team this season saw us in fine form and dominating the opposition from early on, 3-0 up by the break.
Scott was able to control things from midfield, distributing the ball well and enabling us to keep width, and feeding the midfield and forward players to good effect. Adam and Iain had particularly good games in their respective positions.
Another 3 goals in the second half sealed the game. A welcome back to hockey for Matthew, first game for 18 years and acquitting himself admirably.
The defensive trio of Tony, Matt and Ed provided a robust defence with Tony keeping their centre forward honest despite him being one of there best players. Ian despite the heat showed us he has not lost any pace over the summer, and Richard still recovering fitness after his opp was a steadying influence up front. Tom had a good game in goal almost keeping a clean sheet, but with only 11 players and the heat we started to lose concentration towards the end, and to be fair a deserved goal for their centre forward. Goals came from
Matthew, Scott, Adam, Iain, Ian, and Rich.

Next week will be another challenge, we need to keep up the work rate, and work on keeping our shape.
