Development team get another win and secure top of the table finish

A slightly rejigged squad of 12 this week with Rob Davies making his debut after impressing this season in the M5s. We started well and soon found ourselves camped for long periods in the Broxbourne half. We worked hard to make space but we made life a bit hard for ourselves by not focusing on the basics and the bouncy pitch takes a bit of getting used to. Also the rather impressive Broxbourne keeper made a series of fine saves to frustrate our forwards. Once again it was down to Doug to break the deadlock with another good strike from a short corner to take us 1-0 up at halftime. It was much the same in the second half. Broxbourne tried to threaten to break quickly but Max and debutant Rob broke up all the attacks and we recycled the ball to press forward again. Luke ran himself ragged upfront, and Ben put in a shift down the right, as we worked hard in the spring sunshine. Doug scored a second - another sharp shot form a short corner to double the score. Happy days, another win and a fine performance from Tim in midfield despite a bad back. Promoted last week, we secured a top of the table finish this week but still have three tough games to go!
