Dvelopment Team in hard fought win

MDBA matches are always tough physical matches and this game was no exception. We started solidly and were on the front foot from the start. We had the majority of the possession and territory but we couldn't quite find our touch in the D. Lucky Doug got us on the scoreboard with a smart finish following a short corner. Just as we were settling down, we were caught out when MBDA broke quickly and despite a fantastic dive by Tom in goal, the ball looped high off his pads into the net. MDBA threw players forward but we managed to stay strong at the back. And then for one of the moves of the season, Max took a quick sideline ball to Ben who split the defence with a brilliant ball through to Ciaran, who coolly slipped the ball passed the keeper. Brilliant play from the junior players that saw us into half-time 2-1 up. The second half was much similar with the 4s pushing up and MDBA defending hard and relying on quick breaks to stretch us on the break, but the defence and Tom in goal were a match for all that was thrown at us. Tim settled nerves with a precise flick from a short corner to put us 3-1 up, and Luke Rawlinson wrapped up the scoring with a nice clip hit for the match to finish 4-1. Not our strongest performance but we kept it together and enjoyed the brilliance of Ben and Ciaran for the second goal.
