Another strong performance, with Hertford pressing Southgate Adelaide from the off. We worked the ball down the wings with the forwards getting into some good positions. We camped in the opposition half for most of the first half and we converted pressure into the first goal when Doug Ashworth deflected Howie Wilson's shot passed the keeper. The lead was doubled when Doug Ashworth skilfully hit his shot into the foot of a defender which lifted the ball passed the keeper. The second half was similar with Hertford pressing and working hard. Ed Mills split the defence with a weighted pass through the Doug Ashworth who slipped the ball passed the keeper to complete his hatrick. Just to make sure, he cracked in another from the edge of the D. Ciaran Begg joined the party with a good goal to take it to 5-0. The defence was rarely stretched but Tom Smith was alert with a couple of smart saves.
A good solid performance - we played some very good hockey in phases of he game but didn't quite reach the dizzy heights of the previous week. Good fun but we have some sterner tests ahead!
