After a strong performance last week and with a squad of 16 for this match, we set off with high expectations of another good performance but we never really got going and made a real meal of the game. The defense had little to worry about in the first half, but we failed to threaten up front. Thankfully some quick thinking by Archie Akers with a quickly taken free hit saw him coolly slip the ball passed the keeper - a good reward for a good all round performance from Archie.
More of the same in the second half with Hertford not making use of the possession despite Lee Donnithorne showing some brilliant touches in the centre of the park. We conceded a soft goal following some nifty footballing skills by the opposing forward. 1-1 was not a happy place to be, but thankfully a short corner saw us home - a fast flick from Lee was deflected home by Archie. An excellent goal that lit up an otherwise mediocre performance. On the plus side, great to see Max and Sam back in the team, and we did win to secure the points.
