What can I say about that performance? Very little as I wasn't there, but this report has just come through.
For their first league game of the season on Saturday the Development side travelled to Ricksmanworth-on-Sea or that's what it looked like judging by the amount of sand on the pitch.
Rickmansworth had the better of the first 10 minutes but Luke scored against the run of play following which we began to dominate possession with Sam & Jeremiah combining effectively on the right & linking well with Tom A playing in an unfamiliar forward role but to good effect.
Half time arrived but it must have been something the skipper (Tim) said as we conceded almost immediately after the break. No matter, with ice creams finished and deck chairs put away we began to play some composed and free flowing hockey which resulted in Doug scoring our second. Thereafter, and despite the skipper missing a penalty flick, we continued to play with pace and a good deal of verve and Luke scored his second before Ben rounded off proceedings with a reverse stick finish from Jon's perceptive through ball.
This was a very good result against a side we struggled against last season with notable performances also from James at left back and Tom S in goal not forgetting Howie at the back who was at his imperious best.
