So after a frustrating week around selecting a team with the squad changing by the day, the 3's were happy to welcome back the bulk of the team that got the promoted against relegated Letchworth.
The first half was a very even affair, with changes at both ends. Some nice runs by Finn Kennedy down the right, supported by Jon Green and Max Hawkins, in the end resulted in a short corner to Hertford. Tony Morrison's goal bound shot was stop on the line by a Letchworth foot and clive insole dispatched the result penalty flick to give Hertford the lead which the held at half time thanks to some smart saves by Smudger
The second half started with Letchworth pushing hard for the equaliser, and slightly against the run of play a move again down the Hertford right resulted in Clive Insole finishing to give Hertford a two goal advantage. Letchworth continued to push forward, and eventually pulled one back from a short-corner scramble! Hertford seem to become a little flat after this and Letchworth turn the game around with two goals, one a penalty flick to lead 3-2 with under 10 minutes to go. Hertford although tired, managed to raise their game for the last few minutes and a great solo run and shot by Clive Insole which was deflected into the goal to make in 3-3.
Lot's of hard work by the team in very warm conditions, MOM went to Max Hawkins, with other good performances by Miles, Smudger and Finn Kennedy
Thanks to Jon as well, who filled in for the 4's, as he was stuck in traffic, and scored 4 goals. Sure we can claim some of that jug.
