After struggling in the rain last weekend the 2s were able to learn from their mistakes and claim a 2-1 win against Shefford and Sandy. It was a relatively slow start to the half in which Hertford managed to have the majority of chances, yet it was Shefford and Sandy that struck first and made it 1-0 with a well worked attack. Hertford struggled to level the score despite numerous attempts. Crucially, a Scott Apps drag flick on the stroke of half time made the score 1-1. In the second half Hertford started to feel the pressure due to the possibility of not getting all 3 points leading to some very confusing and heated moments usually involving lots of shouting. Luckily, Cormac managed to get off the floor fast enough to tap in a deflected cross making it 2-1. Hertford managed to hold this lead up until the final whistle claiming a vital 3 points in their bid for promotion.
