On a rainy Saturday night in Welwyn Hertford 2s suffered a 3-1 defeat in a very frustrating game of hockey. Hertford went 1-0 up within 5 minutes after a well worked short corner was slotted into the bottom corner by George. Hertford then applied fierce pressure for the rest of the half. However,it was Welwyn who scored after a clearance from their left back reached Tom who slapped it straight at the Welwyn striker who picked it and then passed it into an empty goal. In the second half Welwyn decided they were happy with a point and parked the bus. Despite Welwyn being satisfied with 1 point , Hertford weren’t and pushed to take back the lead. The consequence of this was two counter attacks that allowed Welwyn strikers to pass it into an empty goal. After numerous Hertford short corners the final whistle eventually went leaving Hertford rain soaked and with no points to show for their efforts.
