1. Get Involved, Get Started

Are you thinking about starting coaching?

It's a great way to give back to your community and sport
You can also have a positive influence on people’s involvement in sport and physical activity

And it helps you to keep active

Coaches and Coaching continues to be a cornerstone of Hockey. Be it introducing someone to the game for the first time, working with a club side or engaging with the performance environment across Great Britain, the coach is a critical factor in determining the quality of a player’s experience.

If you would like to take the first steps into coaching please see the information below or contact for more information on your local club and how to get involved.

What do I need?

If you are a parent, young leader or aspiring coach wanting to help out with junior or adult coaching sessions within clubs or schools, or deliver hockey sessions in an informal environment (ie Rush Hockey, Back to Hockey, Cubs, Beavers, youth club) then England Hockey recommends attending our Coaching Club Workshops to give you the support, knowledge and confidence in your role and deliver a player centered experience.

You can also attend Introduction to Hockey Coaching to gain further confidence and support to ensure that the sessions you take are safe, suitable and inspiring for the players you coach.
