Hertford IV 1 - 4 Rickmansworth IV

No disgrace in losing to a side with a lot more pace and sharpness than we had, but disappointing we couldn't keep the result closer. Three of their goals could probably have been checked by more assertive defence, but having said that, they wasted plenty of other clear chances, and drew several good saves from Nicholas.

For the first 25 minutes we soaked up pressure and looked most dangerous on the break when George of Tor had a chance to run into space. But after their 2nd goal we got a grip on the game and finished the half parked around their D, forcing a string of short corners and Chris Dean just failing to get a stick on a ball rolling across the open goalmouth.

Rickmansworth scored again almost from the restart, Dave Harding smacked home a short corner to get us straight back to 3 - 1 but the next goal went against us. We settled down to finish the game well, controlling most of the play and forcing another handful of shorts whilst Rickmansworth were reduced to chances on the break, but despite spectacular efforts fron Dave and George, and some very neat creative play from Chris Duncan and Noah, no more goals.

Let's hope for better next week (at least we're away again).
