The Under 8's traveled to Southgate for an afternoon full of hockey. We fielded two strong teams, playing in an A & B mixed competition, our opponents for the afternoon were Blueherts A & B, Royston A, Southgate A and a strong St Albans A team.

A team had a tough first match against Blueherts A and conceded a couple of early goals, they worked hard as a team and the final score was a 2-1 loss. However they soon found their rhythm and settled into winning ways, by beating Blueherts 2-0, Royston 4-0, St Albans 3-0, Southgate A 2-1. There final match was a nail biting match against Hertford B, winning 3-0. Goals were scored by Henry Walker, Alex Bond, Isaac Lewis and Isla Campbell.

Hertford B team worked brilliantly as a team, with some excellent passes between Matthew Norman and Hal Head setting debutant Kitt Skillett for a array of fantastic goals. Olivia Francis and Lucy Parry worked hard in defence. They started amazingly well beating Southgate A 2-1, Blueherts A 2-1, Royston A 4-0, St Albans A 2-0. A draw against Blueherts B and a loss to Hertford A 3-0.

All the players enjoyed there afternoon of competivite matches, they demonstrated some really good hockey skill and even better sportsmanship. Well done Hertford under 8's you are all great!!

VERY IMPORTANT : SatNav will try to bring you into Trent Park off the Cockfosters Road. The road through the park is closed. You need to enter the park off Bramley Road, opposite Oakwood train station. The post code for the train station is N14 4UT.

PARKING - if pitchside car parks are full, we have an overflow car park. Continue down Snakes Lane, round the barrier and follow the arrow round to the right. Car Park 50 yards on left. Signs will be out for you to follow.

UMPIRES - We will endeavour to find umpires, but please let me know if you have any travelling with the team and be ready to umpire your own teams.

REFRESHMENTS- The bar will be open serving hot and cold drinks, crisps, cakes, chocolate etc

THE PITCH - We are playing on the pitch furthest from the club house

BALLS - We will provide a crate of balls on the pitch for the teams so please do not bring balls with you.

SPECTATORS – Please ask all spectators to stay outside the fenced area of the pitch. They will be able to view over the low level fences. Only the coaches, players and officials should be on the pitchside.
