Ladies 3

A foggy start to the day with traffic issues leaving the captain on tender hooks as to whether we would even be fielding 11 ladies at kick-off. But we made it and even had a sub which is a luxury these days! Tough game as always against Broxbourne with the opposition scoring the first goal within minutes of the whistle putting Hertford on the back foot. But Hertford came back fighting with a fantastic goal from Becca Willis from the left post off a short corner, which was sadly counteracted by yet another Broxbourne goal leaving the score at half time 2-1. 2nd half and we had all to play for. Some fantastic marking from Ella Pizzey followed by some fast foot work ensuring she got past her defender and ran that ball up to the D while Jo Ross and Sophie Murphy worked tirelessly in the centre midfield. Another goal followed with Ella Pizzey picking up the ball following a strike off another short corner from Izzy Wing. The game was back on! Izzy Wing's trademark hits in to the D from the right wing gave Hertford multiple chances of a shot on goal but sadly to no avail and with a final goal from Broxbourne the final score was 3-2 to broxbourne :-(
