We came, we played, we conquered... and now we're 2nd from top!!

A critical win this week for Hertford ladies 3s vs Chiltern 2s who up until this game were unbeaten and 2nd from the top. Hertford fought hard throughout the game but were met with a tremendously capable Keeper. At one point it appeared that Sophie Murphy was attempting to bore a hole through the keeper, on another occasion Hannah Richardson lifted the ball into the goal but this was curiously disallowed – raised eyebrows all around from the botox-free front line! No one entirely sure why the ‘goal’ was deemed dangerous, nevertheless Hertford ladies remained focused on the task at hand, they continued the attacking play like a pride of lionesses’ and were justly rewarded with the first goal in the 60th minute – screams of joy could be heard by every hound in Bedfordshire. The first goal was scored via the back door from a very energetic and tenacious Sophie Murphy. Then finally, a goal from a short corner, a joint effort from Lucy Bonafont and Naysa Mbaeri, with Naysa slickly swiping the ball in from the right post.
Fabulous debut play from Kim Barber and Sophie Clarke who were jointly awarded Man of the match. Inspirational Kim Barber imparted control, confidence and a glossy pony tail into to team.
Final score 2:0 to Hertford - whoo hooo! The campaign continues....
