In a largely forgettable first half, we started slowly again and found ourselves a goal down after 10 minutes, a good finish following sloppy defending. We never really got going but a couple of sharp saves from Geoff meant we didn't concede, and then a goal from Luke Kennedy, dribbling past two players in the D and then slipping the ball past the keeper, meant we went into half time level. After a rather direct and frank half time team talk, we had a much better second half, marking their two strong players much better and quickly closing their player on the ball, which made a real difference. Tor, Noah and Rian worked hard, and Josh and Arthur linked well upfront. The second Hertford goal came from the ever dangerous Arthur Twyning following a typically mazy run to beat the keeper at the near post. A third was not long in coming, with excellent work by Joseph Mari driving forward and crashing the ball into the D for Arthur Twyning to deflect home. The Blueharts keeper made some good saves as the Hertford team began to shake off their shyness in front of goal, and we calmly saw the game out. Not our best performance but we came back strongly in the second half to secure the three points.
