The Development Team had a fantastic day at the office, playing excellent passing hockey, keeping it simple and really stretching the opposition. The first two goals were similar with Steve Worrall volleying the ball waist high into the back of the net from hits from Luke Kennedy from the top of the D. Aidan Barling made a sharp save to keep Stortford at bay, before Luke added a third with a hit that Steve couldn't reach. The second half continued with Hertford playing great hockey. Jack Timms was strong in defence and worked hard to support Robert Holman, who put in a great shift in midfield. Arthur Twyning and Ewen Macpherson ran themselves ragged pulling the defence all over the place with excellent movement and intelligent passing. Steve Worrall scored his hatrick, poaching in the D and added a fourth when he got a faint touch on a hard strike from Joseph Mari from the top of the D. Josh Over scored a deserved goal reacting quickest in the D, and Luke Kennedy completed the scoring completed the scoring with a drag flick from a short corner.
It wasn't a day of individual stars but a day of a superb team performance. The team has come along way in a few weeks, and has further to go but it was a pleasure to be part of today's performance.
