Following on from last week's draw against Bishop's Stortford the Ladies were wanting a win against Luton.
With only 12 players they knew it would be a tough ask but they determinedly started play.
The first 15 minutes were a whirlwind of play. The ball was passed quickly between Hertford players and shots were taken. Leah Wilkerson scored the first goal with an 8inch tap in over the line whilst Luton fumbled to try to keep it out. Molly Hobson then performed one of her trade mark moves and hit the back board from a reverse stick hit.
Short corners were won and out of the three in the first half Molly Pallet managed to convert, followed by Molly Hobson claiming her second with an easy push in past the keeper, who seemed disinclined to move her feet.
By half time Hertford were 4 goals up and decided to change formation in order to maximise the players on the pitch.
There was an explosive start to the second half and all the girls in the pitch gave 110%. The Hertford team were holding their positions well and communicating with each other. They had several shots on goal but none went in. Man of the Match, Becki Quiddington then stepped up to strike on a short corner and it hit the back board, goal number 5 had been scored!
Luton then started attacking and put our defensive line under pressure. Luton got a short corner and during it Lianne made three amazing saves to keep Luton from scoring.
Goal number 6 was scored by Leah who received the ball in the D, after some great passing down the pitch, and slotted it past the keeper.
Luton then went on to score 2, after some determined attacking play and a very nicely worked short corner routine.
A fantastic team effort today and a superb 6-2 win. Next week they are away to Welwyn where they are hoping to get more points on the board.
