Another hat-trick from the Two Molly's and one from Lizzy 'ninja' Moore send Hertford joint top with just five games to go.

After a break last week due to the adverse weather Hertford were keen to hunt out a win against mid-table Blueharts on Saturday.

In extremely gusty conditions the game opened with some promising Hertford attacks, however Blueharts soon found their form and started to counter, piling on pressure down the right hand side of the pitch to successfully avoid conceding.

Molly Pallett entered the game at 15 mins in to make an instant impact, receiving a whizzing ball from Molly Hobson at the top of the D and hammering it past the inside post to open the scoring.

The Molly partnership continued to be a force to be reckoned with when minutes later Pallett returned the favour with a reverse cross across the D for Hobson to tap in in style.

After half-time Hertford fought to maintain their momentum and were quickly rewarded with a short corner from a Hobson drive with assistance from Holly Mayes which was only denied by some excellent aggressive keeping. Pallett took the strike which was deflected off Blueharts defence allowing Lizzie Moore to pick up with ninja-like reactions and sneak round the final line of Blueharts defence to net the 3rd.

Never the less, Blueharts did not give up and some hairy moments ensued as they tried to reply. However goal line saves from Basil Wilkins and Lucy Whitamore and brilliant keeping from Lianne Warnell maintained the clean sheet.

The final nail in the coffin came in a cruel twist of fate as last minute scoring specialists Blueharts had the tables turned on them by Pallet who exploited their fatigue dribbling from the hallway line cutting round layers of defence and smashing into the top corner.

Injured Captain Becky Quiddington said “I was blown away (almost!) by our performance today!” The 4-0 result leaves Hertford joint top of the 5 counties premier league with 5 games to go.
