Hertford travelled to Blueharts this week and came back from last weeks defeat with a bang.
With a new formation, and key players still out injured, Hertford opened well. Holly Mayes and Molly Hobson were relentlessly attacking the Blueharts defence. Molly nutmegged a Blueharts defender, passing the ball to Emily Butler. Emily executed fine skill to commit the goalkeeper, then beautifully passed back to Molly Hobson who slipped the ball into the goal. Blueharts came straight back on the attack, leaving Man of the Match Lotte Butler to make a save on the line.
Hertford continued their attack with great ball movement between the forwards. Some feisty tackling in the Blueharts circle lead to a rogue ball in the air. Molly seized the opportunity and volleyed this into the top of the net.
During the second half Hertford continued with their attack but were unable to get the ball past the goalkeeper. Blueharts scored from a short corner in the last play of the game leaving the result 2-1 to Hertford. Captain Becki Quiddington said ‘We’ve bounced back well from a tough defeat last week. Players are growing in confidence every game and we’re getting better as a squad’.
