Ladies 1's finally make a break

The ladies 1's turned up raring to play on Saturday with a positive attitude and in great spirits. The warm up was dynamic and loud and when the whistle went for the start of the match Hertford were eager to take possession from the Potters Bar push back. In the new formation of 4-4-2 there were definitely a few nervous players on pitch; however within minutes Hertford had settled into the game and were looking confident in their new positions. The first break came really early on with a great ball out wide to captain Molly Pallett who dribbled reverse stick up the wing and into the D before turning and slotting it past the keepers right foot. It was just the break that Hertford needed to restore their confidence. Potters Bar with only 10 at the start defended a series of attacks from a fierce Hertford side and despite having a few attacks of their own our defence remained solid as a rock transferring the ball fantastically around the back using the width and depth of the pitch to their advantage. A number of short corners came to Hertford in the first half and the second goal was a slip left to midfield Maddy Twyning who lifted it superbly into the back of the net to make it 2-0. The score remained the same for the rest of the game and despite having more chances to score Hertford walked away from the game with smiling faces. There was fantastic play by all members of the Hertford side but special mention to man of the match Lotte Butler for her tireless work as an inner back and her entu
