As Ex Hertford Player scores Twice for St Albans

Hertford ladies 1's came back after a 2 week break to play a strong St Albans side including an ex-hertford player Amy Lynn. Hertford were quick to take possession from a St Albans push back however and very quickly found themselves in the attacking half. Hertford soon discovered that the St Albans goalkeeper was very handy and she made easy work of any straight shots on goal. Hertford had a number of chances in the first half but were unable to find the back of the net. St Albans were a strong side and Hertford had to battle hard to look the better team in the first half; St Albans had a couple of attacking runs and some great work by Amy Lynn won St Albans a short corner which they managed to take the lead from making it 0-1 at half time.

The half time talk from coach Spence was positive for Hertford. We looked the better team and had played with the majority of possession in the first half just unable to capitalise on the chances we had. Unfortunately for Hertford, St Albans came back with a renewed aggression and played some tactical and effective hockey in the second half. Hertford began to look tired only having one sub and the pace began to slack which put us at a disadvantage. St Albans went on to score two further goals both from short corners and both scored by ex-Hertford player Amy Lynn off the right post. There was some great play from both teams on the day but when it came to the crunch St Albans wanted it more and fought hard to earn a win.
