Ladies 1's lose at local rivals

Hertford struggles to get hold of the ball and keep it on Saturday against a very organised and aggressive home side. Welwyn were quick to close down any Hertford possession, which put a great deal of pressure on the Hertford defence of Teresa Bartrum, Hannah Brown and Katy Brown. The first home goal was unlucky for Tina hills in goal as she had no chance as it took a heavy deflection high up into the air and was out of reach of all the defence.

Hertford were able to link some passes and phases of play together as man of the match Sophie Rawlinson, Molly Pallett and Maddy Twyning were able to use their pace and power for some success. However the play was often broken down before it could get to Helen Owen and Sian Foster up front.

Welwyn were winning the tackle area and had a very fast counter attack move down the right, their second goal was a well worked move which was slotted home around the defence. Hertford held out till half time, and had the better play for the final 15 minutes of the first half.

The second half followed a very similar pattern, with Hertford gaining territory and possession with no success. The final goal came 5 minutes from time, again a well worked passing move stretching the Hertford defence, who at time looked out of sorts.
