Hertford I 1 Sudbury I 1

The ladies 1's took away a positive result with a 1-1 draw against a strong Sudbury side last Saturday. Tina Hills made some fantastic saves in goal and despite having 15 short corners throughout the game Sudbury were unable to convert from any of them.
The defence consisting of MAN OF MATCH Teresa Bartram, Nicky Estherby and Hannah Brown battled continuously to clear the ball and maintained a strong defensive line despite being down to 10 players for a short period of time.
HERTFORD finally got their break in the middle of the 1st half with Helen Owen screaming down the right wing and crossing the ball into unmarked captain Molly Pallett who swept it past the keeper into the top of the backboard.
HERTFORD knew it wasn't all over despite taking the lead and continued to work tirelessly all over the pitch with some excellent runs from Maddy Twyning and Sophie Rawlinson. More chances were created on both sides but no goals came until about 3 minutes from the end of the game when Sudburys captain took a high ball and following a one on one with the keeper managed to slot the ball into the open goal. A great game of hockey and a well deserved draw for HERTFORD.
