Men's 4's Season is Gathering Pace

So the 4's turned up for a late one at Sunny/ending up wet Broxbourne for a late one. Having played each other 3 weeks earlier and smarting from a 6-2 defeat the 4's were looking to putting a better performance.

With 15 of us turning up, the chairman pulled his "Man flu" card and managing things from the sideline (When he started his stop watch!)

An excellent game of Hockey ensued, between two good sides, and with the game being film (yes Jared has already managed to share his goal on facebook), the men's 4's started well in the game, generally control possession, without creating a lot of changes. Finally the deadlock was broken after 20 mins Luke Godwin managed to slot home - between the keeper legs to give the 4's the lead. Broxbourne started to come back into the game, and were unfortunate when a goal bound shot hit one of there own players feet on the line - but on the break, Hertford scored their second with Alan Ross putting Jared clean through, we all had our doubts - but the finish was excellent, giving Hertford a 2-0 half time lead. Broxbourne started the second half strongly and soon pulled one back with the help of Tony Morrison with a finish Giroud would have been proud of, and with the 4's on the back foot, it started to look a little bleak, but from a short corner on the break, Nick Earnshaw struck a shot that was deflected and eventually put in by Rob Hyatt and Hertford regained their two goal margin.

The pace continued in the second half, with Broxbourne applying pressure and despite a couple of green cards for each side, no more goals were scored until the last 8 minutes when Brox scored a second from a short. But Hertford managed to control the game for the last few minutes, with some great possession and held out for an excellent win against a good side.

An excellent game all round from both sides, played in the right way.
