The Dream Continues

So the mighty 4's continued their quest for the "Great Escape" Part 2 with a long and early early trip up to Berko, well Aylesbury in fact for a 10.30 start against a side that had not lost a game this side of Xmas.

Due to the early start, we lost both Andy Benson (Men's 6's) and Mark Voaden (Men's 3's), but gain George (Coyote) Lynn from the men's 6's - the 13 men of Hertford turned up against youthful Berko side who seemed keen to continue there good form.

Hertford, were not quite as slow out of the blocks as normal and a tight open spell in the game did include a stunning save from Ian Smith from the Berko centre forward, but whenever Hertford broke forward they look a threat and this became more apparent, as the Berko centre midfield, became more and more agitated as the game went on.

Goalless at the break, Hertford felt this was a game they could win, with Jared Parry-Ford staying high up the pitch and George Lynn tireless running, they continued to dominate after the break, but with Jared (Barn Door) Parry Ford unable to hit the target the game stayed in the balance with Berko dangerous on the break...................but finally it came, a move down the right and George Lynn cut in from the right and slip the ball under the keeper to give Hertford the lead with 5 minutes to go..................

The last few minutes were tense, with Dave Roche receiving a nasty hand injury - but Hertford deservedly held out for 3 points and now move on to the final game of season and the delights of possible the worst pitch in the League at Dame Alice........

The train is more than gathering pace.........................beers and curry afterwards!!
