The Development Team had a promising start to the season in a very enjoyable, gentle friendly against Stevenage 5s. To be fair we had most of the possession and most of the territory, particularly as the game went on and the opposition's legs began to tire. We had the time to pass the ball around and it was good to see us using the full width of the pitch so early in the season! Thomas and Luc made promising debuts for the team, with Luc working hard for the team and Thomas involved in some good link up play down the right. With the Stevenage keeper in fine form, we went in 1-0 up at half time but netted another six in the second half with Tim and Howie bossing the game. Regulars Doug (2) and Ben scored and guests Mark and Luke also racked up two apiece. We will face sterner tests in the coming season but it was a enjoyable workout that enabled us to work on the shape of the team, and passing and moving.
