Hard earned win...

A hard fought game against a competitive Pitchers team that put up a good fight. We settled much quicker this week, with Sam, Thomas and Luke linking well down the right, and Tim and Howie commanding the middle of the pitch and dictating the play. James continues to grow in confidence and Ciaran put in a good shift up front. Unfortunately John got a stick in the mouth breaking one tooth and having another completely knocked out whole - with root attached. He'll live and I'll be disappointed if he's not available next week - it is a league fixture after all!
We had the majority of the possession and territory and found it hard to break down a tightly packed defence and an excellent keeper, who pulled off a series of great saves. At last, we scored a goal - a fine strike from Doug 'manflu' Ashworth from a short corner that went in off the post.
Apart from the teeth, a good result and a good hard game in which we stuck to our plan of playing good passing hockey.
