An interesting afternoon's work....Letchworth lost a player due to road closures, and we gained John Layfield from the 3s who had been snarled up in the traffic jams and missed their game but was in time for a run out for the Development Team. We started out a bit nervously - probably missing Tim and Howie's experience - but managed to move the ball round well and soon found ourselves on the front foot. That pressure was quickly converted to goals with John Layfield, and Doug finding the net from sharp hits in the D. Ed joined in with his first goal in over a year from a smart reverse stick shot, and I think it was Ben's goal goal that took us in 4-0 up at halftime. We carried on in the second half, with John scoring a total of four goals in a fantastic performance, Doug scored another and James Rollins scored his first goal for the side as a total of nine goals poured in. It would have been more but for some sharp saves from the Letchworth keeper who was in good form. We shipped a goal from a short corner and we got a bit ragged as the score racked up. But a good win, no complaints with a 9-1 win and some more strong performances from the junior players.
