The 3's turned up in good spirits but determined mood for this tough away game at second place Letchworth
The first 5 to 10 minutes were very even before Letchworth upped their game and for a 10 - 15 spell Hertford struggling to get the ball out of their own 25, let alone their half. But some great defending by Tony Morrison (3 off the line in the match), Hugo McLean and Nik Bentley kept Letch at bay. As the half continued Hertford grew into the game and pressed Letchworth further up the pitch and this seemed to upset the hosts as they misplaced passes and a few half chances were created, but the score remained scoreless at half time.
After a spirited half time chat, Hertford started the second half stronger, and about 10 minutes in from a short corner they moved the ball around well for "Deadly From 3 Inches" Worrall to score what turned out to be the early goal.
Letchworth tried to pull themselves back into the game - but Sam Timms stopped everything that was thrown at him and Hertford held out for their second win of the weekend, moving them to within 3 points of a promotion place.
Another tough this week as the 3's travel to Berko for what will be a physical battle - but certainly looking for 3 more points!
