The masses of the 3's squad arrived at Letchworth for a late start in confident mood after last week's crushing win over Bedford. We welcomed back Martin Bailey who replaced Dangerous Dave.
Despite their lowly position in the League, Letchworth started the game very strongly and where unlucky not to take the lead when Miles Henderson-Lea cleared off the line. Hertford struggled with their passing game on a slow pitch, but a break towards the end of the first half by Clive Insole resulted in a Finn Kennedy slotting home from close range to give Hertford the lead at half time.
The second half was a pretty even affair, although Hertford did carve out the better changes and eventually made it 2-0 with a goal from James Berry. Shortly after this Hugo McLean was yellow card, but despite playing with only 10, Hertford game improved and they controlled this period without adding to the scoreline.
Letchworth did finally get a consolation they deserved five minutes from time but Hertford held out for a very useful 3 points and continue their climb up the table.
Ricky at home next week, and with a few personnel missing will look to continue their good form
