A large 3's squad arrived for their home game with unbeaten Bedford Vets, with a couple of changes, Smudger back in goal after being demoted to the 1's last week, Finn Kennedy replacing the unavailable Martin Bailey and the return of Dangerous Dave Roche
The first 15 minutes were played a slow pace, with although Hertford generally controlling the ball but no real chances created. Then on the quarter hour mark a quick move down the right result in Steve Worrall slotting home from close range. This was followed by two more quick goals from James Berry and suddenly Hertford were comfortable. A fourth arrived soon after from Jasper Carr. Miles Henderson-Lea then decided to chest one down on the line and Bedford had a penalty flick which Smudger saved.......sorry it hit the post. Jasper Carr added a fifth just before half time and that was the half time scoreline
Second half as in previous weeks, Hertford seem to drop the pace a bit and it took a while for the sixth to arrive, finally poked home by Steve Worrall. Bedford finally did get themselves on the scoresheet from a short corner. But two late goals from Finn Kennedy gave the Hertford the scoreline the performance deserved.
We move on too next week and a late trip to Letchworth to continue our move up the table.
The beer certainly tasted good last night
