Russ does not use beanie to good effect

11-2 tells you a lot about the game. It was quite easy, and could have been 6 or 7 more if we played as well as we have been in previous weeks. Imagine the England vs Fiji game played on the same day as the game - it was something like that.

Russ bagged a hat trick, though should have been 4.

Si, James, Ben, and Luke sneaked 1 in as well.

As a significant portion of the team are below 18. This means they are susceptible to distraction. A football found at the side of the pitch distracted the youth for about 20 minutes before, and showed exactly why they are hockey players. Horrendous shots, poor first touches, and sloppy passes were among a catalogue of errors shown by them.

Hertford had broken down the middle of the pitch, leaving the WH+E players in their wake, and with a pass to Russ, all defenders were eliminated. He only had the goalkeeper to beat, as well as being ably assisted by Damien to his right. Being on two goals, he did what anyone else would have done, went solo, moving to the left of the D as he approached. He was past the keeper, so he shaped to shoot, wound up, and unleashed a powerful swing at the ball which no goalkeeper would have saved had he connected cleanly. However, unfortunately for Russ, Damien, the captain, the team, the fans, the club, the whole of Hertford, England, Europe, and the rest of the world, his shot/pass missed the goal by a mile, and missed Damien by half a mile. It was a sight to behold. A moment of shock and awe was felt around the 'ground'. Instant DoD right there. How could one man miss by so much will be discussed by future scientists, philosophers, and hockey players, but it is unlikely that they will ever find the answer. He did eventually get his hat trick but the miss outweighs the hat trick by a long way.

Not much else happened other than a lot of goals for Hertford.
