Goals from James Begg and Luke Rawlinson set apart Hertford from local rivals.

Meeting in the clubhouse meant three things for the 2's: more cards, more goals scored, and less goals conceded. Joe Mari, used skills that could only be taught by his dad, Andy, to strike an opposing players stick, to go off for 5 minutes, and James Begg used similar tactics which I can only assume he learnt whilst at university to get himself a seat in the bin. However, James B made up for this hiccup by scoring a very lucky drag flick, that really should have been saved by the keeper, as he got it to hit the post and high as it went into the net. But hey, we all need a bit of luck now and again, don't we James? Unfortunately Joe was unable to find a way to score (the fact he was playing at the back the whole game and James was playing in an attacking role is irrelevant here) led to him winning a thoroughly deserved dick of the day. As for the rest of the team, the team did well to hold the opposition at bay, with Tom Smith in goal making some half decent saves all around the goal mouth. Luke Rawlinson scored a very good deflection after making up for James Begg's flick that was heading wide, knocking it high past a beaten keeper, and a hopeless post man. A good goal that had plenty of practice prior to the game (by 2's standards.)

All round a good performance by everyone, which helped hand Broxbourne their first defeat of the season, and move Hertford to 9 points from 8 games.

MotM: Tom Smith
DotD: Joe Mari

There were more than 4 players playing in the game (!), but I'll end my report by reminding you that we did beat the local rivals, previously unbeaten in 7 games, and 7 places above us, so all the Hertford players put in a shift to get the much deserved 3 points from the game.

'Come ooooonnnnnnnnnn' - Matt Earle at the end of the game.
