Mens 2s March on v Luton

Hertford 2s continued their good form with a 4-1 win over Luton 2s in this rearranged fixture. In typical January style, the rain poured and the wind howled but it was not to dampen the spirits of the winning side, who went in 1-0 up at the break thanks to a good deflected goal by Finn Kennedy.

Hertford remained composed throughout the game and continued to utilise the counter-attacking system that has been so effective this season. The indulgent Christmas period seemed to have little effect on the high intensity that the home side are used to showing and three further goals followed after the break, with Finn Kennedy netting a second and James Begg adding two more to his tally for the season.

Despite the home side going down to 9 men at one stage, some heroic goal keeping from in form shot stopper and man of the match Jared Parry-Ford limited the away side to only one goal in the second half. Parry-Ford, assisted by central defensive maestro Elliot Barling, Hugo Maclean and Lee Barber, rarely looked like conceding in this challenging post festive fixture.

As the season gets back underway, Hertford 2s have a game in hand and, in their current form, can put a serious case forward for promotion in this highly competitive league.
